A little piece of lore. Lorelet (said LORE-let) researches whatever you give it and writes up the whole story: what happened, who was involved, why it matters, with pictures, a citation for every claim and a confidence score. You can read it, listen to it, or use its toolkit to tell it yourself.

A topic (“the Tunguska event”), a question (“why did Circuit City collapse?”), or links: articles, YouTube videos, Reddit threads, TikToks, posts. You can also share straight from Safari or any other app using the share sheet.

Usually about a minute. You can watch it work, and you’re free to leave the app while it does. The narrated version is typically ready about half a minute after the lorelet itself.

Anyone who likes a good story: podcasters prepping an episode, teachers, writers, trivia fans, and the chronically curious. It was built for a two-person podcast first, which is why it’s so good at making something tellable out loud.

Lorelet reads sources in order of trust: peer-reviewed journals, official records, encyclopedias and universities, and major news outlets first, then the wider web. It also looks at what people are saying on forums, but treats that as opinion, never as proof. Every claim links to the source it came from.

No research tool is, and lorelets are written by AI from the sources it finds. That’s why every claim is cited and every lorelet carries a confidence score based on how strong and consistent its sources are. For anything important, follow the citations and check for yourself.

It blends how sure the writer is with how good the evidence actually is: how many sources agree, and how trustworthy they are. A well-documented piece of history scores high; a mystery with thin, conflicting sources scores lower, and the lorelet says what’s uncertain.

From open archives and libraries such as Wikimedia Commons, NASA, the Library of Congress and museum collections, chosen for the story and credited to their creators. If nothing fitting exists, Lorelet shows its own mark rather than a random stock photo.

Two AI voices, Marin and Cedar. Lorelet alternates between them, or you can pick one in Settings. They’re generated by AI, not recorded by people.

Yes. Narration plays in the background, on the lock screen, over AirPlay and in CarPlay, with chapters, speed control, a sleep timer and an Up Next queue. Lorelet keeps a copy of what’s playing so dead zones don’t interrupt it.

The iPhone’s own mic, AirPods and other Bluetooth mics, USB-C mics and receivers, and wired headsets. Two-channel receivers like the DJI Mic 3 record each person on their own track.

They stay on your iPhone and in your iCloud Drive. Lorelet’s servers only receive a small summary (the title, length and which episode it belongs to), never the audio itself.

Buy a top-up: 5 more for $3.99. Top-up lorelets never expire and are used after your monthly ones. Your monthly allowance resets each billing period and doesn’t roll over.

Each new lorelet you make. Reading, listening, re-listening, sharing and exporting are free, and so is a lorelet that fails to finish: it’s returned to your allowance automatically.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Lorelet. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date and you won’t be charged again; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Sign in with the same account and it’s there. If not, open Settings in Lorelet and tap Restore Purchases.

No and no. Lorelet has no ads and no ad tracking. We use your information only to run Lorelet for you. The details are in our privacy policy.

Your topics and links are sent, without your name or email, to the AI models that research, write and narrate your lorelet (from Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and Perplexity, reached through OpenRouter). Lorelet asks for your permission before the first one. The privacy policy lists every service involved.

Not to read and listen to featured lorelets. To make your own, sign in with Apple (you can hide your email) or with an email address.

In Lorelet, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. That permanently deletes your lorelets, ideas, episodes, narrations and recording summaries. Recordings in your iCloud Drive are yours and stay there. You can also email privacy@lorelet.app. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in Settings too.

iPhone with iOS 26 or later, and it’s made for iPhone Duo: the cover screen, the unfolded screen, and the half-open posture all have their own layouts.

Unfolded, a lorelet becomes a reading desk: the story on one side, contents, confidence and conversation starters on the other. Controls live in a slim bar at the edge of either screen, and propped half-open, the Prompter and the picture viewer split neatly at the fold.
