The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Lorelet (“Lorelet,” “we,” “us”) for using the Lorelet app and lorelet.app. By using Lorelet, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lorelet.

Who can use Lorelet

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms for you.

Your account

You need an account to make your own lorelets. Keep your sign-in secure; you’re responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person, please: accounts, trials and free features are for individual use and can’t be shared, sold or used to get around limits.

Lorelet Plus, trials and top-ups

Billing. Lorelet Plus is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store and billed to your Apple Account. It renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings under your name, then Subscriptions.
Allowance. Plus includes a set number of new lorelets each billing period (currently 12 a month), shown in the app. Unused lorelets don’t carry over. A lorelet that fails to finish doesn’t count against your allowance.
Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a free trial, which includes a limited number of lorelets (currently 2). Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription. Trials are one per person.
Top-ups. Top-up packs add extra lorelets. They’re one-time purchases, don’t expire while your account exists, and are used after your monthly allowance.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s policies.
Price changes. If we change prices, Apple will notify you as required, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
Fair use. Lorelets are for people, not scripts. We may limit unusually heavy or automated use that affects the service for others.

Lorelets are researched and written by AI from the sources Lorelet finds. They can contain mistakes, miss context, or reflect errors in their sources, even with citations and a high confidence score. The confidence score is an estimate, not a guarantee. Lorelets are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise). For anything that matters, read the cited sources and check for yourself. Narration is generated by AI voices, not recorded by people.

Your content and lorelets

What you give Lorelet (topics, questions, links and notes) stays yours. You give us permission to use it to run Lorelet for you, as described in the Privacy Policy, and you confirm you have the right to share it with us.

Lorelets you make are yours to use for personal, educational and creative purposes, including reading or discussing them on your podcast, stream or show, and quoting them in your own work. We don’t claim ownership of them. Because lorelets are generated from public sources, similar lorelets may be made for other people.

Material from others that appears in a lorelet, such as pictures and quotations, belongs to its owners. Lorelet shows each picture’s credit and source. If you reuse a picture outside Lorelet, follow its license and credit its creator.

Featured lorelets and everything else we make (the app, the site, the Lorelet name and marks) belong to Lorelet. You’re welcome to share links to them.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use Lorelet to:

break the law or help anyone else do so;
research, profile or harass private individuals, or dig up personal information about them;
create content that sexualizes minors, promotes violence or terrorism, or targets people based on who they are;
get instructions for weapons capable of mass harm or other seriously dangerous acts;
pass off lorelets as the work of the sources they cite, or present them as professional advice;
scrape, copy or resell Lorelet, reverse engineer it, probe or overload our systems, or get around limits, trials or payments.

Lorelet may decline requests that fall outside these lines. You can report a lorelet that seems wrong or harmful from within the app, or by emailing support@lorelet.app.

Copyright complaints

We respect creators’ rights. If you believe material in Lorelet infringes your copyright, email copyright@lorelet.app with: your contact details; the work you believe is infringed; where it appears in Lorelet (a lorelet title or link helps); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized by you, your agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are, or are authorized to act for, the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We’ll remove material that shouldn’t be there and may close accounts that repeatedly infringe.

Changes and availability

Lorelet will keep changing: we add, improve and sometimes remove features, sources and models. We work hard to keep it running, but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the changes take effect; continuing to use Lorelet after that means you accept them.

Ending

You can stop using Lorelet and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where the law requires it; where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why first. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) continue after your account ends.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent the law allows, Lorelet is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, Lorelet won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Lorelet or reliance on any lorelet. Our total liability for any claim relating to Lorelet is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.

If a dispute comes up, please contact us first at support@lorelet.app; most things can be sorted out quickly and informally.

Apple

If you got Lorelet from the App Store: these terms are between you and Lorelet, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Lorelet or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Lorelet fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the app’s purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple isn’t responsible for addressing any claims relating to Lorelet, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims. You confirm you’re not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and not on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where it conflicts with these terms, these terms govern to the extent allowed.
